Abstract:

Hyperimmunoglobulin E (HIE) syndrome is a rare immunodeficiency disorder. HIE syndrome has multiple abnormalities include recurrent skin abscesses (hence, the name JOB syndrome), pneumonia, high serum levels of IgE, Facial, dental and skeletal features. We presented a case of HIE with dermatologic findings, recurrent productive cough and facial features. The diagnosis of HIE require differentiation from other disease. No definitive therapy is available for the treatment. The mainstay of treatment is the control of bacterial infections.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of educational package based on JOB SUCCESS for hemophilic patients on JOB SUCCESS and JOB satisfaction of these patients. The research method was semi-experimental, and research design was two groups with three stages (pre-test-post-test-follow-up) design. In order to carry out the research, from 600 hemophiliac patients in Isfahan in 2017, 40 patients were selected based on criteria of entry and exit and assigned them randomly in two groups of experimental group (20) and control group (20). Two questionnaires of JOB SUCCESS and JOB satisfaction questionnaire (JDI) were used to measure the variables of the research in the pretest, post-test and follow-up phases. The experimental group received 11 sessions of 2 hours under the educational package based on JOB SUCCESS for hemophilic patients and the control group did not receive any training. Finally, the number of samples was reduced to two groups of 16 people, considering the drop and the criteria for leaving the study. The data were analyzed with the use of repeated measure analysis of variances. The results showed that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the JOB SUCCESS and JOB satisfaction and its dimensions including the nature of work, care, rights, promotion, colleagues and the work environment in both post-test and follow-up (p<0. 001). This means that the JOB SUCCESS training package has had an impact on JOB satisfaction and its dimensions, along with the SUCCESS of the JOB for hemophilic patients. Therefore, this training package can be effective in improving the occupational conditions of hemophilic patients.

Abstract:

Mindfulness, as a multi-dimensional construct, plays a phenomenal role in employees’ career and organizations’ future. The present study intends to investigate the impact of mindfulness on career SUCCESS, JOB adaptability and JOB burnout among the employees of public banks of Bushehr City. A sample size of 242 answered the questionnaires and structural equations modeling was applied. Results show that mindfulness has a positive significant impact on the variables of JOB adaptability and career SUCCESS; whereas, it has a negative significant impact on JOB burnout. Moreover, JOB adaptability positively affects career SUCCESS but it has a negative significant impact on JOB burnout. Career SUCCESS, too, has a negatively significant impact on JOB burnout of the banks’ employees.

Abstract:

A career path is defined as a set of JOBs taken by an individual over his/her career. The SUCCESS of a career path is measured by subjective and objective satisfaction. Although the SUCCESS of a career path is important by itself, it is more important for organizations to know what factors influence career paths so that they can improve human productivity and develop a satisfied human resource. This paper reports the results of a content analysis on 40 interviews with executive experts in the petroleum industry aimed at identifying these variables using the NVIVO software package. The reliability of the data was estimated at 0. 92 using William Scot’, s method. Finally, 36 variables underpinning career paths were classified into three categories of behavioral, contextual, and structural. This research contributes a paradigm for executive research. In addition, the variables identified here can be used to define new relations when designing career paths and career path models in the human resource system at the National Iranian Oil Company.

Abstract:

Background and Aim: JOB enrichment is a method that has been used to increase employee satisfaction and work motivation. The Hackman and Oldham JOB characteristics model (1976) has served as the foundation for many JOB enrichment efforts. In particular, a considerable amount of research has been devoted to the study of the JOB characteristics-JOB satisfaction relations. Te purpose of this study was to statistically determine the relation between JOB characteristics and JOB satisfaction among employees of hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in 2007. Materials and Methods: This study was a cross-sectional one, including 6 TUMS-affiliated hospitals-Emam, Shariati, Baharlo, Ziaeian, Madaen and Azadi. The sample size was 400, consisting of 200 administrative employees (50%), 151 nurses (38%) and 49 physicians (12%). The random sampling and stratified proportional sampling methods were used to select the hospitals and interviewees, respectively. Two questionnaires were developed and used to identify JOB characteristics and JOB satisfaction: 1) JOB diagnostics surveys (JDS) and 2) Hertzberg's JOB satisfaction questionnaire. The reliability of the questionnaires was ascertained by test-retest using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r = 0.88). Linear-by-linear association and ordinal logistics regression analysis were used for analyzing the data gathered. Results:The relations between the Motivational Potential Score (MPS) and JOB characteristics (except for feedback) with JOB satisfaction were statistically significant (p<0.05). Task identity was the most effective determinant of JOB satisfaction. Conclusion: It appears that all the JOB characteristics (except feedback) are important determinants of JOB satisfaction of the hospital employees. Although the work environment is in need of restructuring, it is important to note, from a positive perspective, that the JOB characteristics discussed in this study are readily amenable to change JOB satisfaction at the organizational level.

Abstract:

Purpose: A 12 year-old boy and a known case of JOB’s syndrome presented with a large conjunctival mass which represented coexistence of HPV and HSV infections.Case Report: The presence of HPV virus within these lesions was confirmed by biopsy and DNA analysis. The mass lesions did not respond to anti-HPV therapy with topical interferon-2b, oral cimetidine and oral acyclovir, but improved promptly with antiviral therapy with intravenous acyclovir administered for cutaneous herpetic lesions. HSV infection was diagnosed clinically by the typical extensive epithelial dendritic lesion over the conjunctival mass and its dramatic response to IV acyclovir. Conclusion: Based on our results and on the relevant literature we propose an immunological mechanism for this unique manifestation of coexisting herpes simplex virus and human papilloma virus infections in hyper-IgE syndrome.
